On 6 June 2026, an unveiling ceremony for a bust dedicated to the Karabakh horse was held in the city of Solothurn, Swiss Confederation. The event was organized by the Azerbaijani-Turkish Cultural Center with the support of the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Swiss Confederation.
In his remarks at the ceremony, the Head of the Azerbaijani-Turkish Cultural Center, Mr. Cevzet Aras, expressed his gratitude for the donation of the bust to the Center and emphasized that this initiative carries special spiritual and cultural significance for the Azerbaijani community living in Switzerland. Noting that the Center has been operating since 1992, Mr. Aras particularly underscored that the organization has always felt the support of the Azerbaijani state.
Subsequently, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Swiss Confederation, Mr. Fuad Isgandarov, addressed the audience and highlighted the important symbolic and cultural significance of the unveiling of the bust dedicated to the Karabakh horse. The Ambassador noted that the Karabakh horse is one of the unique symbols embodying the ancient history, rich cultural heritage, and national identity of the Azerbaijani people. Mr. Isgandarov stated that such initiatives make a significant contribution to preserving national and moral values among Azerbaijanis living abroad, promoting Azerbaijani culture, and further strengthening solidarity among diaspora organizations. He particularly stressed that monuments of this kind play an important role in fostering a sense of attachment to the homeland among younger generations and in preserving national identity.
The Ambassador also noted that, following the Patriotic War, the Karabakh horse has become one of the prominent symbols representing Azerbaijan’s Victory, strength, and determination.
At the conclusion of his speech, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation to all institutions, organizers, and participants involved in the realization of this initiative.
The ceremony continued with the symbolic unveiling of the bust by Ambassador Fuad Isgandarov and Chairman Cevzet Aras.
The event was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Switzerland, members of the local community in Solothurn, and staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Switzerland.
