An event titled "Azerbaijan Meets Switzerland in Harmony of Movements – From the Caspian to the Alps, Bridge of Cultures" was held in Basel, Switzerland.
On November 13, 2025, an event titled "Azerbaijan Meets Switzerland in Harmony of Movements – From the Caspian to the Alps, Bridge of Cultures" was held in Basel, Switzerland, with the support of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Fuad Muradov, participated in the event. In his speech, the Chairman of the Committee emphasized that Azerbaijan, located at the junction of the West and the East, harmoniously synthesizes these two great cultures and has become an exemplary place of multiculturalism and tolerance.
Fuad Isgandarov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein, said that this cultural bridge established between Azerbaijan and Switzerland demonstrates, in addition to art, the power of mutual respect, understanding and friendship between our peoples.
It was noted at the event that cultural programs implemented at the initiative of our compatriots living in Switzerland and Europe in general have made a significant contribution to the formation of objective perceptions of Azerbaijan and the further strengthening of our country's cultural diplomacy.
In her speech, Arzu Aliyeva Bodmer, head of the "Friends of Azerbaijan" Association, spoke about the projects implemented in Switzerland to promote Azerbaijani culture, strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between peoples. She said that the cultural bridge stretching from the Caspian Sea to the Alps is based on common values that unite peoples.
A photo exhibition by photographer Andre Jabali reflecting the history, cultural heritage and natural beauties of Azerbaijan was demonstrated as part of the event.
The event continued with an cultural part. The "Rhythm" dance group from Azerbaijan, vocalist Orkhan Jalilov living in Austria, and composer and pianist Vasif Huseyn performed wonderful Azerbaijani national dances and music.
It should be noted that the event, which took place with the support of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Diaspora Support Fund under the committee, was organized by the "Friends of Azerbaijan" Union and the "Buta" Dance Association, which has been operating under the union for five years.
