The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov received the Deputy State Secretary of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Eurasia Division of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Pierre-Yves Fux.

On April 15, 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the Deputy State Secretary of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Eurasia Division of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Pierre-Yves Fux.

 

During the meeting, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland were discussed.

 

The parties reviewed issues of cooperation in political dialogue, economic and trade relations, energy, transport, and other areas of mutual interest, as well as ongoing work within international organizations and platforms, including Switzerland’s plans regarding its OSCE Chairpersonship.

 

In addition, regional and international security issues were addressed, including the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, Azerbaijan’s peace agenda, reconstruction and rebuilding efforts, and demining activities.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.

 

On the same day, the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Switzerland was held. The consultations were led by Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev on the Azerbaijani side and Deputy State Secretary Pierra-Yves Fux  on the Swiss side.
