Azerbaijani national folk music Mugham was performed in Basel and Bern on 25 June 2017.

On 25 June 2017, concerts of the Mugham quartet comprising Ehtiram Huseynov, Gunay Imamverdiyeva, Khayyam Mammadov and Rovshan Gurbanov was organized in Basel and Bern by diaspora organizations “Friends of Azerbaijan” and “Cultural Association of Azerbaijanis of Switzerland” with close support from the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Switzerland.

In her opening speech, President of the Association “Friends of Azerbaijan” Mrs. Arzu Aliyeva-Bodmer informed the audience about Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani folk music Mugham, which is included in the UNESCO’s list of non-tangible world heritage.

The audience of approximately 200 people comprising mainly the local public warmly welcomed the performance. The concerts contributed significantly to the promotion of the Mugham music in Switzerland.
