Novruz Celebratin for Azerbaijani students in Leysin city

Novruz celebration was organized at the Swiss American Academy international school in Leysin city for Azerbaijani students. The event took place at the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Swiss Confederation and Principality of Liechtenstein. The Embassy representatives informed the guests about Novruz Holiday in Azerbaijan. They stated that Novruz is Azerbaijan’s most cherished holiday, which marks the arrival of spring. On September 30, 2009, UNESCO included Novruz on the list of intangible cultural heritages. On February 23, 2010, the United Nations declared March 21 as the “International Novruz Day.” The guests were offered Novruz deserts by the Embassy of Azerbaijan. They had the chance to observe a special stand dedicated to Novruz and to taste various Novruz specialities The principal of Swiss American Academy expressed his gratitude to the Embassy for the organizational support.
