Swiss companies expand cooperation with Azerbaijan
As part of their visit to Azerbaijan, the Swiss business delegation met with Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev.
At the meeting, assessing outcomes of the delegation’s visit to Azerbaijan, the sides exchanged on the prospects of bilateral and multilateral relations with the Swiss Confederation.
The Swiss delegation highly appreciated the activities of SOCAR in Switzerland, as well as the existing cooperation with Pasha Bank and underlined existence of the great potential for cooperation with Azerbaijan in various financial and economic fields, including communication, information technologies, tourism, transport and others.
Representatives of the Swiss companies active in the financial and banking sectors inquired about possibilities of establishing business relations in the insurance sector of Azerbaijan. In response, the guests were briefed about goals and future prospects in this field as set out in the strategic roadmap for the development of Azerbaijan's economy.
Swiss businesspeople highlighted ongoing discussions with Azerbaijani counterparts with the aim of establishing cooperation in shipping goods via transport corridors passing through Azerbaijan within China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
The Azerbaijani side informed the guests about the economic potential of Azerbaijan, reforms and perspectives in the non-oil sector.
