Ambassador Hanum Ibrahimova attended the Woman Ambassadors’ luncheon with Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch, Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs

On 14 November 2017, Ambassador Khanim Ibrahimova attended the Woman Ambassadors’ luncheon with Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch, Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs.

At her tête-à-tête conversation with the State Secretary, Ambassador Kh.Ibrahimova mentioned 2017-2020 Swiss Cooperation Strategy for the South Caucasus, and in this context praised the Swiss support to the projects on development of stable financial sector, management of public funds, improvement of economic framework for companies etc.

Kh.Ibrahimova also provided extensive information about the candidacy of Baku to host World Expo 2025, pointing out the experience of Azerbaijan in organization of various major international events, recent economic and social development in the country, the unique theme proposed by Azerbaijan for Expo 2025, and the favourable geographic position of Baku for hosting such Expos. While emphasizing the high-level political support in Azerbaijan for Baku’s bid, Ambassador Ibrahimova stressed that Azerbaijan will do its utmost to organize an impeccable Expo and call on the State Secretary to support Baku’s candidacy.
