Ambassador Khanim Ibrahimova met with the State Secretary for Education, Research and Innovation Mauro Dell’Ambrogio

On 5 December 2017, Ambassador Khanim Ibrahimova met with the State Secretary for Education, Research and Innovation of the Swiss Confederation Mauro Dell’Ambrogio.

The interlocutors exchanged views on developing bilateral cooperation in the field of education and Swiss vocational education and training system.

Ambassador Ibrahimova informed the State Secretary about the educational reforms and various projects implemented in Azerbaijan. She stressed the interest in Azerbaijan in learning Swiss experience in this field.

M.Dell’Ambrogio recalled his meeting with the Minister of Education of Azerbaijan while the latter was visiting Bern in 2012. He expressed his views that there is still untapped potential for the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.

Ambassador Ibrahimova talked extensively on the candidacy of Baku to host World Expo 2025, emphasizing that the theme proposed by Azerbaijan “Developing Human Capital” was very relevant for the contemporary world, and Switzerland can use it to exhibit its world-renowned vocational education and training as well as highly developed medicine and pharmaceuticals.
